Port de Bonifacio is set inside the natural fjord that cuts deep into the white limestone cliffs at the southern tip of Corsica, beneath the medieval citadel that crowns the rock. The harbour is narrow, dramatic and almost fully sheltered — one of the few Mediterranean ports where superyachts moor stern-to directly beneath a UNESCO-listed old town. With 80 superyacht berths, it sits at a strategic crossroads: the Bouches de Bonifacio mark the dividing line between Corsica and Sardinia, and the marina is the natural turnaround between Porto Cervo, Sardinia's Costa Smeralda and the Corsican Riviera. Corsican cuisine has its own clear identity, drawn from the inland mountains as much as from the sea. Charcuterie is the headline: AOP coppa, lonzu and prisuttu cured by mountain producers from semi-wild Nustrale pigs that forage on chestnuts. Brocciu (AOP fresh sheep cheese) appears in everything from savoury fillings to fiadone dessert. Honey from the maquis carries six AOP designations from chestnut groves and wild flowers. Olive oil from the Balagne, Corsican wines from the Sartène, Patrimonio and Figari appellations (Vermentinu, Niellucciu, Sciaccarellu), and the daily Bonifacio fish market — sea bream, scorpionfish, lobster, sea urchin — round out the local pantry. Mainland Provençal sourcing supplements through ferry connections from Nice and Marseille. Yachting season runs late May through September, with July and August at peak when the marina fills and the Lavezzi and Cavallo anchorages just offshore become standard tender circuits. Local suppliers handle same-day fresh items ordered before 09h00 and 24 to 48 hours for full provisioning. The Bouches de Bonifacio crossing to Sardinia is a short hop, and several Bonifacio suppliers coordinate handovers with Porto Cervo and La Maddalena counterparts for charters working both islands.
