Marina Santa Cruz sits in the capital of Tenerife on the north-east coast of the largest Canary island, with 80 superyacht berths in the modern marina basin opposite the Auditorio de Tenerife (the Calatrava-designed concert hall, one of the most distinctive modern Spanish buildings) and the Anaga mountains rising immediately behind the city. Tenerife is the principal western-Canaries yachting hub, with Mount Teide (Spain's highest peak at 3,718 m, the volcanic cone visible from across the island) defining the landscape.
The Tenerife pantry is volcanic Canarian. Tacoronte-Acentejo DO — the principal Tenerife wine appellation, on the volcanic slopes north of Santa Cruz, producing Listán Negro reds and Listán Blanco whites from indigenous Canarian varieties (the Listán is one of the world's oldest cultivated grape lineages, brought by Spanish colonists in the 16th century).
