Puerto de Ciudadela sits on the west coast of Menorca, with 50 superyacht berths in the narrow natural inlet of Ciutadella (Ciudadela in Castilian), the historic capital of Menorca and the calmest principal yachting port of the island. The town has retained the old Catalan-Menorquí character intact (Mahón was reshaped by British rule; Ciutadella retained the pre-British Mediterranean atmosphere) — historic cathedral, narrow Gothic-Renaissance streets, the famous Sant Joan festival in June.
The Ciudadela pantry is Menorcan with western-island specifics. Mahón-Menorca DOP cheese (the cheese is produced across the island but the western interior villages — Es Mercadal, Ferreries — have several leading dairies). Caldereta de langosta de Menorca — Ciutadella is one of the principal centres of the lobster-stew tradition. Gin Xoriguer from Mahón (cross-island distribution). Sobrasada Menorquina. Olive oil from the small western Menorcan groves. Menorcan specialties: arròs de la terra, cuixot (Menorcan blood sausage), formatges artesanals. Fresh fish from Ciutadella boats and the surrounding waters. The Sant Joan festival in June (June 23-24) is the island's defining cultural event — caixers (horseback riders), traditional pomada and ensaïmadetes — and the town's restaurant calendar peaks around it.
Yachting season runs May through October with sharp Italian-fleet peaks in July-August. Ciutadella suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, with tender delivery to the smaller west-coast bays (Cala Macarella, Cala Macarelleta, Cala Mitjana).
