Puerto Banús sits 6 km west of Marbella, with 100 superyacht berths in one of the most internationally famous marinas of the Mediterranean. Developed by José Banús in 1970 as a luxury yachting destination, the marina has become the global icon of the Costa del Sol jet-set scene — Rolls-Royces and Lamborghinis on the quayside, the world's leading luxury brands, restaurants and nightclubs immediately adjacent, and a concentration of charter yachts that few other ports can match.
The Andalusian pantry is at its richest. Jamón Ibérico de Bellota from the Huelva and Extremadura dehesa (Jabugo sets the global standard — black-foot Iberian pigs fed exclusively on acorns in the cork-oak dehesa pasture). Atún rojo de almadraba from the Cádiz coast (the Strait of Gibraltar bluefin tuna catch, in season April-June). Jerez sherry — the full repertoire from Fino through Manzanilla, Amontillado, Oloroso, Palo Cortado to Pedro Ximénez and Cream — from the historic bodegas (Jerez is 130 km west). Andalusian DOP olive oils from Jaén (Spain's largest production zone). Costa del Sol specialties: espeto de sardinas, pescaíto frito, salmorejo, ajo blanco, gazpacho. Spanish wines at scale: Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Priorat, Penedès. Specialty providers handle the international superyacht fleet's full requirements — HACCP, kosher, halal, allergen-segregated, vegan, raw protocols all routine, with the deepest Costa del Sol supplier network.
Yachting season runs April through October with very sharp peaks July-August. Puerto Banús suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning. Málaga airport is 50 km east.
