Porto di Bosa Marina sits on the central west coast of Sardinia, at the mouth of the Temo river — the only navigable river in Sardinia — with 35 superyacht berths and the pastel-painted houses of Bosa town climbing the riverbank behind. The town itself is one of the most photographed in Sardinia and the surrounding Planargia region has a wine and food identity entirely distinct from Gallura or the Costa Smeralda. The pantry centres on Malvasia di Bosa DOC, an oxidative dessert wine aged in chestnut barrels for years, with sherry-like character and intense complexity. It is one of the rarest Sardinian wines and produced almost entirely by family bodegas around Bosa. The town's other signature is fish — sa cassola bosana (a local fish stew), aragosta (lobster) from the Planargia coast, sea urchin. Olive oil from the Planargia hills. Sardinian specialties from the Nuoro province inland: malloreddus, culurgiones, pane carasau, Pecorino Sardo, porcetto. Cannonau from across the island. Yachting season runs June through September. Bosa is markedly off the standard yachting circuit and suppliers work in 24 to 48 hour cycles. Same-day fresh fish from the Bosa boats. The marina is well-suited to charters seeking authentic Sardinian fishing-town atmosphere rather than resort polish.
