Marina d'Arechi sits on the south side of Salerno, with 90 superyacht berths in a modern marina basin and full megayacht infrastructure. Salerno is the gateway to two of Italy's most distinctive culinary regions — the Amalfi Coast directly north, and the Cilento national park to the south, where the Mediterranean diet was formally codified by Ancel Keys in the 1950s. The marina is one of the largest on the Tyrrhenian and supports the high-summer fleet that works between Capri, Amalfi, Positano and the Cilento. The pantry is Campanian at depth. Buffalo mozzarella from Paestum and the Sele plain (the Cilento DOP zone), San Marzano tomatoes from the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese, Cetara colatura di alici fifteen minutes north, sfusato Amalfitano lemons. Cilento DOP olive oil, fior di latte from the Lattari mountains, scialatielli from Amalfi, Gragnano pasta. Campania DOC wines: Falanghina, Greco di Tufo DOCG, Fiano di Avellino DOCG, Aglianico, Taurasi DOCG. Fresh fish from the Salerno auction and Cilento boats. The Cilento itself produces an exceptional pantry of small-scale producers — Castelfranci wines, alici di menaica (a traditional anchovy fishing method, Slow Food protected), cacioricotta cheese, white figs of Cilento. Yachting season runs May through October. Salerno suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, with onward delivery up the Amalfi Coast and south into the Cilento bays.
