Porto di Cefalù sits on the Tyrrhenian coast of northern Sicily, halfway between Palermo and Messina, with 35 superyacht berths in a small natural harbour beneath the iconic Norman cathedral and La Rocca cliff. Cefalù is one of the most distinctive small ports of Sicily — UNESCO-listed for its Arab-Norman heritage, with the Madonie mountains rising directly inland and a fishing-village atmosphere preserved more intact than at any of the larger Sicilian ports. The pantry pulls from the Madonie mountains and the Cefaludese fishing tradition. The Madonie are one of Italy's most distinctive Slow Food zones — manna di Castelbuono (the rare sweet sap from manna-ash trees, harvested by traditional methods and used in patisserie), salsiccia delle Madonie, provola delle Madonie, suino nero (the black pig of Sicily, native breed). Pasta alle sarde with wild fennel from the inland hills. Anchovy fishing remains an active local tradition. Sicilian specialties: cannoli, cassata, granita con brioche, pasta alla Norma, arancini, sfincione. Vastedda della valle del Belìce DOP (the rare sheep's milk cheese, further west but accessible). Olive oil from the Madonie hills. Specialty providers in Cefalù work with the Madonie park producers directly. Yachting season runs May through September with peak demand in summer. Cefalù suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning. The port is markedly small-scale — best as an intermediate stop between Palermo and Milazzo, with Palermo (75 km west) as the practical full-provisioning hub.
