Porto di Milazzo sits on the Tyrrhenian coast of north-east Sicily, on the narrow Capo Milazzo headland that juts into the sea opposite the Aeolian Islands. With 50 superyacht berths and the principal ferry connections to all seven Aeolian islands (Lipari, Salina, Vulcano, Stromboli, Panarea, Filicudi, Alicudi), it is the practical mainland staging port for any charter working the Aeolian archipelago.
The pantry is north-east Sicilian with the Aeolian crossover. Mamertino DOC wines from the inland hills (one of Italy's oldest documented wines, drunk in antiquity). Capo Milazzo olive oil from old groves on the headland. Fresh fish from local boats — swordfish, tuna, anchovies, sardines. Sicilian specialties: granita con brioche, arancini, cannoli, pasta alla Norma, sfincione. Crossover Aeolian items: Malvasia delle Lipari DOC dessert wine, capperi delle Lipari. Pesce spada from the strait (Milazzo and Messina are the two principal landing ports for Strait of Messina swordfish). Specialty providers coordinate handovers with Aeolian suppliers for charters basing on the islands.
Yachting season runs May through September with sharp Italian-fleet peaks in late July and August. Milazzo suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, plus coordinated delivery to yachts already on the Aeolian Islands via daily ferry service.
