Porto Cala Gavetta is the inner harbour of La Maddalena, the largest island of the Maddalena National Park archipelago between Sardinia and Corsica. With 55 superyacht berths in a small protected basin beneath the island's main town, it offers direct shore access — restaurants, fishmongers, bakeries — to yachts that want to base in the archipelago rather than commute from Palau.
The pantry is north Sardinian — Gallura terroir — sourced mostly from Palau on the mainland. Vermentino di Gallura DOCG, Cannonau di Sardegna, Pecorino Sardo DOP and Pecorino Romano. Bottarga di muggine. Local Maddalena fishermen land sea bass, dentex, octopus and lobster — the archipelago's clear, protected waters produce particularly good fish. Sardinian specialties: malloreddus, porcetto, pane carasau, mirto. Most non-local items arrive by daily ferry from Palau, which experienced suppliers stage carefully.
Yachting season runs late May through September with sharp peaks in late July and August. La Maddalena suppliers handle same-day fresh deliveries and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, with tender delivery throughout the archipelago — Spargi, Santa Maria, Budelli, Caprera, Razzoli.
