ACI Marina Opatija (also known as Marina Ičići, after the village where it is located) sits on the Kvarner coast 6 km south of Opatija, with 65 superyacht berths in the modern marina basin facing Cres island across the gulf. Opatija was the Belle Époque resort of the Austro-Hungarian aristocracy — Habsburg royalty wintered here in the 19th century — and the elegant villa coastline running north toward Volosko and Lovran retains the imperial-era atmosphere alongside the working port economy.
The Kvarner pantry is distinct from Istria. Kvarner scampi — the famous langoustines of the Kvarner Gulf are one of the Adriatic's premier seafood specialties, peaking in spring and autumn. Lovran cherries (Lovranska Marasca PGI) from the village 5 km south — used in maraschino liqueur and patisserie. Olive oil from the Opatija and Mošćenička Draga groves (the Kvarner produces small but high-quality olive oil). Wines: Žlahtina from neighbouring Krk island, plus Istrian Malvazija and continental Croatian (Graševina) crossover. Croatian charcuterie tradition (kulen, pršut) and the Habsburg-era patisserie heritage (strudel, krempita, the Vienna-style sweet kitchen). Fresh fish from the Rijeka auction (15 km north).
Yachting season runs May through October with shoulder support. Opatija suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, with tender delivery to Cres, Krk and Lošinj anchorages.
