ACI Marina Rovinj sits in the small natural harbour of Rovinj, one of the most photographed towns of the northern Adriatic, with 55 superyacht berths in the bay beneath the Venetian-era Saint Euphemia basilica (the 60-metre campanile is modelled on Venice's Saint Mark). Rovinj was a Venetian possession for five centuries and the food and language traditions remain distinctly Italo-Croatian — the town is officially bilingual (Croatian and Italian) and the Istrian-Venetian cuisine reflects four centuries of crossroads.
The pantry combines Istrian terroir with Venetian heritage. Istrian olive oil from the Motovun, Buje and Vodnjan groves (world-class). Indigenous wines: Malvazija Istarska whites (the appellation centre is just inland), Teran reds. Istrian truffles from the Motovun forest 40 minutes east. Pršut istarski PDO. Adriatic fresh fish: scampi (langoustines) from the northern Adriatic are a Rovinj signature — the Kvarner scampi are particularly prized — plus sea bass, sea bream, John Dory, octopus. Venetian-influenced dishes: brodetto (the multi-fish stew), pasta with seafood. Specialty providers in Rovinj work fluently in Croatian, Italian and English.
Yachting season runs May through October with peaks summer. Rovinj suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, with tender delivery to the Rovinj archipelago islets (Sveta Katarina, Crveni Otok) and onward to the Brijuni national park.
