D-Marin Dalmacija sits in Sukošan south of Zadar, with 90 superyacht berths in the largest marina of northern Dalmatia and one of the most comprehensive in the Adriatic. The marina is the principal yachting hub for charters working the Kornati archipelago (148 islands, the densest island cluster of the Mediterranean and a Croatian national park) and the central Dalmatian coast. Zadar itself, 8 km north, has Roman foundations and a UNESCO-listed sea organ that turns wave action into music.
The northern Dalmatian pantry is distinct from southern Dalmatia. Olive oil from the Zadar hinterland and the islands (Ugljan, Pašman). Wines: indigenous Maraština whites from the Zadar coast, Babić reds from Primošten 30 km south. Pag sheep cheese (Paški sir PDO) from the karst island of Pag immediately west of Zadar — Croatia's most famous cheese, made from sheep grazing on aromatic herbs covered in sea salt spray. Pag salt from the Solana Pag pans (one of Croatia's oldest salt works). Adriatic seafood: scampi, sea bass, dentex, sea urchin. Dalmatian charcuterie — pršut, kulen, panceta. Fresh fish from the Zadar fish market.
Yachting season runs May through October with peaks summer. Dalmacija suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, with tender delivery to the Kornati national park anchorages.
